Vectorthis is a web and graphic design studio in Guelph, Ontario founded by Derek Lapp in 2006. It was started with the idea that graphic design is more than just some Photoshop wizardry. It’s strategic use of imagery, layout and typography. It’s intelligent negotiation between form and function. It’s not about looking pretty, but being understood.

I still remember the moment it all started: grade 10 presentation on computer programming. I spent so much time on posters and info-graphics that when I finally heard myself going on about databases that I realized I didn’t want to write code, I just wanted to design more posters. 10 years later, nothing’s changed.

I graduated from Fanshawe College’s Multimedia program in 2006 and have since been working with some of the best minds in brand communications. I’ve desiged for a variety of brand touch-points, but my soft spot will always be designing innovative and engaging web interfaces. I just love making cool stuff people like using.
